In 1 Samuel 1-2, Hannah is desperate for a child. She goes to the House of God to pray. She prays to the Lord that if He gives her a son, she will dedicate him to the service of the Lord.
Hannah becomes pregnant and gives birth to her son Samuel. At about the age of 1, she obeys the promise and brings Samuel to the temple, leaving him there for God’s service.
Desperate! Obedient! But in 1 Samuel 2: 1-10, we see Hannah was a Worshipper!
Look at her response:
Verse 1: “My heart rejoices in the Lord…”
Verse 2: “There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides You; there is no Rock like our God.”
Verse 8: “… for the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them He has set the world.”
Verse 9: “He will guard the feet of His faithful servants.”
We can learn from Hannah to be Desperate, Obedient, and Worshiper in every season.!”
