As we celebrate the birth of Christ this week. What an incredible miracle that God gave to us in sending His Son to rescue me from my sins! What a Christmas gift!
But let us also know that as Jesus came to earth the first time, the Bible tells us that He is coming the second time.
As Jesus is headed to the Cross, He focuses on this with His followers in Mark 13:32-37.
Here is what Jesus told them and for us today:
Verse 32-33: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.”
Verses 36-37: “If He comes suddenly, do not let Him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!”
Remember the expectation we had as children that Santa would come on Christmas night?
We need a greater expectation that Jesus is coming again! Are we awake, alert, and ready for when King Jesus returns?
