In Luke 12: 16-21, Jesus gives a parable (a story) about our priorities in life’s journey. Every one of us will decide what our priorities will be in life. What will be our priorities in life?
Jesus tells a story about a rich man who had everything anyone would want. But because of his greed and his need for more, he said, I would tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I will be happy and can sit back and say, “Now I can rest, take it easy and eat, drink and be merry.” How much is enough? What will we need on the journey of life to be satisfied?
In Luke 12: 20-21, we read, “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for? Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth, BUT NO HAVE A RICH RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!”
If our relationship with God is right, personal, and close, no matter what we face in this world, we will be blessed and have the peace of God! God is not saying that there is anything wrong with money, possessions, or enjoying life! But we must decide to have a rich personal relationship with the Lord!
Enjoy all the blessings of this life, but one day they will end, and what are we doing to do about eternity? Make your relationship with the Lord your first priority, and watch the blessings God will give you in this life and the future! “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you!
Lord, help me focus on my relationship with You and enjoy all the blessings from You!
