In Luke 16: 19-31, we read about the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. Jesus was teaching His followers about the eternal journey that every one of us will take.
The rich man had everything but a relationship with God, and Lazarus suffered in this world but had a relationship with God. Both die, and the rich man goes to hell, and we get a glimpse of hell in Luke 16.
In verses 27-28, “Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them, so they don’t end up in this place of torment.”
Verse 30: “…But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn from God.” We need to warn people that the journey of eternity requires a choice. Must we choose heaven or hell? God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and He rose from the dead! He provided the only option to avoid eternity in hell. Jesus provided us with a way out of torment for eternity. He provided us with eternal life!
The choice is mine to make. Where will I spend eternity?
Then we need to warn others about their eternal journey! Let’s share the good news of Jesus with other people today!
