Jesus is the Master of asking questions. When Jesus asked questions, He was not seeking an answer, but for us to know the answer.
In Luke 9: 18-20; “One day Jesus left the crowds to pray alone. Only his disciples were with Him, and He asked them, “Who do people say that I am?” Well, they replied, “Some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the ancient prophets risen from the dead.”
How many of us want to know what everyone else is saying? What are people saying about life, culture, problems, spirituality? But the important question is the next question that Jesus asked the disciples?
In verse 20 – “But who do you say I am?” That is the vital question that Jesus is asking us personally? “Who do you say that I am?” It is not what Instagram, Facebook, or others say about Jesus. What matters is what we say about Jesus!
Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God.”
Who do you say that Jesus is today? How do we answer that question personally to our family, friends, and people that we have a relationship with in life?
